Sproing !

It has been a real treat to watch spring come to the Appalachians.  Last weekend we went over into the Smokey Mountain National Park in Tennessee, and drove a scenic drive called the Cherahalla Skyway ...... way cool.  At the top of some of the mountain ridges we drove past large areas of bare trees with the branches and twigs covered in ice.  It was 35 degrees up there, with fog and wind coming over the ridge and freezing on the twigs ..... made the mountainside glisten.

I tried a watercolor painting of the mostly "leaf-less" mountains..... it's really hard to show a winter/early spring scene with a hint of colored buds:   this is near Cherokee, NC

We finished our landing/ramp and the dogs love it !  the steps down out of the motorhome were very steep.  Yesterday we dismantled it into sections, which a friend is trucking over to Cascade Lake campground where we will be for the next 5 or 6 months.

We left Hendersonville this afternoon and came 1 1/2 hours east to Marion to have some servicing done on the motorhome.... then back to Cascade probably on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, all the trees are being transformed ..... "spring!"
